Mistaken

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 6:17 PM

Previous reports of me reaching rock bottom were wrong. Rock Bottom has basements, sub basements, and sewers. I appear to be in the smelly brown up to my neck.

Thank you caring, sharing DSS.

Cruella deVille

  • Oct. 21st, 2009 at 11:14 PM

Bel (sans LJ) has just taken me out for an amazing Italian meal for my Birthday. Whilst sat at the table, I was exposed to a real life Cruella deVille. She had the same tiny hourglass figure, and the same bulldog licking piss-off-a-thistle face. I mean a face that could curdle milk at a dozen paces. As much as i didn't want to look, I couldn't help it.
She alas did NOT have the dalmation coat.

Its not every day that a cartoon comes to life. Weird eh?

Thank You All

Rock bottom. That's where I hit in the job agency on Wednesday. Apparently along with the rest of me, my academic qualifications are.....old. So to prove that I am still literate and numerate I have to go on an English and maths course. FFS! I am resolved to do this course in crayon.

Outcast aftermath

  • Jul. 6th, 2009 at 9:34 AM

Man I ache!! The first time I have worn chainmail in nine years, and it shows. I had a great time at outcast. Good role play, top looking set dressing, and a lovely absence of nanny state. The Predani looked great, had the right attitude and kicked ass. if only my legs would stop aching...

Mostly Maelfroth and some news

  • Apr. 14th, 2009 at 9:10 AM

Back from Maelstrom, having had a GREAT event.
From solving political problems before they spiraled into conflict, to having some great one on one intense conversations. Thank you all, I had a great time. The Marines rocked, and once again made a good impression.

In the real world, this will be my last post for some days whilst we move house, and wait for a new internet connection. See you all soon.

Happy Birthday!

Ireland of Broken Dreams?

  • Mar. 31st, 2009 at 6:31 PM

Quite a while ago, Bel and I announced our intention to move to Eire. Thanks to the credit crunch, that now will not happen for some years. The jobs that Bel would apply for just don't come up in a recession.
On the up side the immediate reason for going is no longer valid. I no longer need to convalesce, as I am better!
So we have purchased another house in B'ham, or to be more precise, in Solihull. Don't know about phone number yet but if you want the new address please email me. We are moving mid April.

The Carnevale is over...

  • Feb. 25th, 2009 at 9:58 PM

"if it's got a dimple in its bottom, stick your thumb up it"

This has to the THE quote from our trip to Venice.(Thank you Mr Polley). Especially taken out of context, and with no explanation. Venice was FAB. Good company, good wine, amazing food, and of course we all looked fabulous. If I get organised i will post some piccs.

Happy Birthday!

Maelstrom Player Event-Carnevale

  • Feb. 1st, 2009 at 6:37 PM

Just got back from the wilds of Norfolk, having attended the Flambard event. Was tremendous fun. Very well catered, lots of good roleplay, and a live folk band too. The only bad bit was the long tedious drive there and back again. Was great to catch up with folks and looking forward to seeing them all at the new site.

What a pile of king sized poo!

  • Jan. 2nd, 2009 at 10:42 PM

Have just got back from seeing The Day the Earth Stood Still. I was dubious before going, as the original B & W is a big favorite.
Two words define this new film: UTTER CRAP.

Truncated lobotomised plot. Piss poor acting, a really annoying child character that made Wil Wheaton in Star Trek TNG look good. Nothing about this film pleased.
Complete waste of time and money.

Solstice Greetings
