Happy Birthday Pax Draconis!
Man I ache!! The first time I have worn chainmail in nine years, and it shows. I had a great time at outcast. Good role play, top looking set dressing, and a lovely absence of nanny state. The Predani looked great, had the right attitude and kicked ass. if only my legs would stop aching...
After a mere 6 months of endless application forms, I have an interview. On Monday. Now just have to nail it....
I wish all my friends the harmony and joy that Beltane brings.
It is also our anniversery, where if i can find them, i intend to recreate sausage wars. Those who were there will lnow what I mean :)

Right This will be my last post for a few days. Hopefully I should be back with a net connection on Thursday at the new house. See you all soon
Back from Maelstrom, having had a GREAT event.
From solving political problems before they spiraled into conflict, to having some great one on one intense conversations. Thank you all, I had a great time. The Marines rocked, and once again made a good impression.
In the real world, this will be my last post for some days whilst we move house, and wait for a new internet connection. See you all soon.

Many happy returns to Binidj. Have a good one mate.Hope to catch up at Easter
Quite a while ago, Bel and I announced our intention to move to Eire. Thanks to the credit crunch, that now will not happen for some years. The jobs that Bel would apply for just don't come up in a recession.
On the up side the immediate reason for going is no longer valid. I no longer need to convalesce, as I am better!
So we have purchased another house in B'ham, or to be more precise, in Solihull. Don't know about phone number yet but if you want the new address please email me. We are moving mid April.

This has to the THE quote from our trip to Venice.(Thank you Mr Polley). Especially taken out of context, and with no explanation. Venice was FAB. Good company, good wine, amazing food, and of course we all looked fabulous. If I get organised i will post some piccs.

Just got back from the wilds of Norfolk, having attended the Flambard event. Was tremendous fun. Very well catered, lots of good roleplay, and a live folk band too. The only bad bit was the long tedious drive there and back again. Was great to catch up with folks and looking forward to seeing them all at the new site.
Have just got back from seeing The Day the Earth Stood Still. I was dubious before going, as the original B & W is a big favorite.
Two words define this new film: UTTER CRAP.
Truncated lobotomised plot. Piss poor acting, a really annoying child character that made Wil Wheaton in Star Trek TNG look good. Nothing about this film pleased.
Complete waste of time and money.

I would like to you wish you all a happy Yule. Whatever your religious leanings ( or not) I wish you all the best as the days now start getting longer.
Just a nudge to remind folks about the bash at our house tomorrow. If anyone needs directions or crash space let me know!
HAppy Birthday Ladkys!

Today has been a good day. Bel and I have been married for exactly 3 years 3 months and 3 days! We spent it relaxing and lazing and doing what we wanted to.
We also went to see a splendid performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream in the grounds of Coughton Court, by Heartbreak productions. The fairie scenes were particularly fine.
If interested, have a look at www.heartbreakproductions.co.uk for dates and venues.

I have just got back from Ireland. I was intending to stay for one week, but ended up staying two. This was down to me having a small stroke. Yes that's right a stroke.
I seem to have set some sort of local age record as people of my age tend not to get them.
I am ok, I just have to make several lifestyle changes, NOW! Faced with the consequences of not changing, its a no brainer.
The stay in the Irish hospital was odd for several reasons:
Everyone, I mean staff and patients, was on first name terms. This included consultants. Except for me. I was always Mr White. That Englishman(raised eyebrows). This has been the most I have not been called Chalkie for years.
I was regarded with frank suspicion when it was found that I don't drink tea. It took three days before any coffee appeared.
I now own the first set of pajamas since I was 12. and slippers too. All I need now is a velvet smoking jacket and I'd have the whole set. The indignity of it all.
